Dove Real Beauty Sketches
“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
― Kahlil Gibran
Physical beauty and image is important to many woman {and men} even if some don't want to admit it. For crying out loud, you're on a fashion blog, clearly you care somewhat! Although looking good contributes to self confidence, true beauty lies within the heart, as the quote above states.
Scrolling through my Facebook feed sometime last week, I fell upon a link that was produced by Dove. Dove is well known for some of its "body positive" campaigns so I was quite intrigued when I saw that they had come out with a new one. I honestly didn't think it was going to be that special, but let me tell you, I am obsessed and in awe. A professional FBI sketch artist was hired to drew multiple, random woman, whom are all absolutely beautiful in my opinion {I'd kill to look like any of them!}, based on how they described themselves and then how a stranger described them. The results were astonishing... take a look for yourself if you haven't seen this video already!
Although fashion, makeup and hair might be fun, remember true beauty and what's on the inside {as cheesy and cliche as it sounds} is what is most important.

What a Stud!
I absolutely love studs because they are so easy and can dress up any outfit, whether it be casual or for a fancy evening out. They help me feel a little bit more girly without going over the top with chandelier earrings, which I find to be somewhat uncomfortable {plus they always get tangled in my curly hair}! If I were to go earring shopping right now, here would be my top picks:

What I Wore: April 7
Vest: Target {In the little girls section!}
Shirt: Target
Jeans: Target
Belt: Target
Shoes: Tory Burch
Last night, my family and I went over to my cousins' house to celebrate my youngest cousin's birthday and I just thought I'd share with you what I wore. I kept it pretty casual over all but the vest {faux fur, of course!} and shoes definitely dressed it up a bit. I love any chance to dress up a little and I always try to be a little more put together when I'm with my extended family!
Overall, it was a great night. My uncle, who is an amazing cook set up the most delicious taco bar. I wish I had pictures to show but I was obviously too busy scarfing down all the delicious toppings! By the end of the night, I'm pretty sure I even had to loosen my belt a couple notches!
